Direitos Indígenas no Ciberespaço: A conectividade nas margens

Uma preocupação cada vez maior pela promoção e protecção dos direitos humanos está agora inquestionavelmente imbricada nas questões mundiais contemporâneas, e uma das consequências tem sido a ampliação do discurso internacional sobre os direitos humanos, que agora inclui os direitos colectivos e indígenas. À medida que o discurso dos direitos humanos se tem tornado cada vez mais globalizado, os povos indígenas têm procurado partir dos direitos humanos como uma linguagem dentro da qual enquadram os seus movimentos, expressam as suas posições e direccionam as suas acções. Este texto procura analisar como as tecnologias de informação e comunicação têm criado um novo espaço que possibilita a expansão dos direitos indígenas recentemente reconhecidos e como, cada vez mais, se assiste à apropriação da tecnologia por comunidades indígenas como instrumento de acção política e de reafirmação da identidade cultural. Pensando a indigenização das tecnologias de informação e comunicação como exemplo do que se pode designar como a construção cultural da tecnologia, este texto procura também reflectir sobre as dinâmicas da visibilidade/invisibilidade dos povos indígenas na sociedade da informação

Gender relations and the dowry system in India : the case of Hyderabad

This article seeks to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the gender relations and the dowry system in India. It is based on a qualitative study that gave priority to the undertaking of interviews with women from different educational backgrounds living in the city of Hyderabad (South of India). The predominant perception of the interviewees is that education promotes economic and symbolic independence. The higher the educational level, the more critical accounts are found in relation to: the dowry system as a mechanism of reproduction of the low status of women and of the persistent asymmetries in gender relations; the wish to educate sons and daughters under equal conditions; and the value given to marriages based on love to the detriment of arranged ones. The main argument is that education is a fundamental source of women’s empowerment and opens up prospects for challenging the patriarchal regime, changing the status of women and leading to a more gender equal society. However, if this is to happen, then the education system (programs and curricula) needs to be congruent with gender equality, targeting both women and men in the project of challenging the dominant patriarchal structure

Modélisation et vérification de protocoles pour des communications sécurisées de groupes

Dans le monde des systèmes qui utilisent des communications sous forme de diffusion de groupes, le critère de sécurité devient un facteur de plus en plus important. Le choix des mécanismes pour la protection de cette communication, mécanismes basés sur des échanges de clés symétriques et asymétriques, influe sur l'efficacité du système. Nous avons procédé à l'analyse des besoins et nous avons défini un modèle qui permet de représenter la dynamique des groupes et la communication entre leurs membres. Nous avons défini l'architecture d'un système dont l'élément central est la fonction de création, d'échange et de mise en place correcte des clés. La modélisation de ce système dans un environnement UML 2.0 a permis son analyse en termes de garantie de propriétés temporelles et de sécurité. L'approche suivie pour l'étude des exigences temporelles est généralisable à de nombreux systèmes distribués. La valorisation de nos études a été faite dans le cadre du projet national RNRT SAFECAST. ABSTRACT : Systems that implement communications in the form of group multicast have increasingly raised security problems. The protection mechanisms applied to that communication rely on symmetrical and asymmetrical key exchanges, and the way these mechanisms are selected does influence the system's efficiency. Following an in depth analysis of the needs captured by these systems, we defined a model for representing the dynamics of groups, as well as communication among group members. We defined one system architecture which focuses on key creation, exchange and management functions. The system was modeled in UML 2.0 and checked against security and temporal properties. The approach we followed to investigate temporal requirements may be extended to a broad variety of distributed system

Com este objetivo, exploram-se duas importantes referências: a investigação de Roslyn Poignant sobre o encarceramento de um grupo de indígenas australianos no mundo do espectáculo Ocidental, com a sua recuperação de fotografias do arquivo colonial, e o filme Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002), que lida com o processo histórico que se designou na Austrália por “Gerações Roubadas” – exemplos que procuram romper com o silêncio da memória indígena australiana e resgatá-la

Dirofilariose Cardiopulmonar Canina Caracterização epidemiológica na região do Algarve

Este relatório descreve as atividades desenvolvidas pela aluna durante o estágio curricular da Licenciatura em Enfermagem Veterinária, realizado na clínica veterinária Inemvet. Os objetivos do estágio centraram-se em aprofundar os conhecimentos adquiridos durante a licenciatura e em desenvolver competências na prática clínica médico-cirúrgica. Durante o período de estágio a aluna teve oportunidade de trabalhar em diferentes áreas, como no apoio às consultas, urgências, cirurgia e anestesia, internamento e pós-operatório, análises clínicas, meios complementares de diagnóstico e higiene e estética animal, onde participou em 85 consultas, 77 métodos complementares de diagnóstico, 29 cirurgias e 28 recobros pós-cirúrgicos. O Algarve é descrito como uma região hiperendémica para a Dirofilariose cardiopulmonar canina. Esta doença parasitária afeta o sistema cardiovascular dos canídeos e, nos últimos anos, tem vindo a ganhar bastante importância e preocupação, devido à sua expansão e ao seu potencial zoonótico. Provoca uma sintomatologia maioritariamente cardíaca e pode mesmo levar à morte dos animais. Paralelamente às atividades clínicas, foi desenvolvido um estudo que teve como objetivo avaliar a prevalência da Dirofilariose, os fatores que a afetam e o conhecimento dos tutores sobre a doença, na região do Algarve. Para isso, foram elaborados 19 testes de gota fresca (onde se obteve um caso positivo) e disponibilizados questionários online aos tutores e centros de atendimento médico veterinário da região. Obteve-se um total de 409 respostas no primeiro, onde houve 32 casos positivos de Dirofilariose (71,87% pertencentes aos concelhos de Olhão e a Faro) e 6 respostas no segundo. Com este estudo concluiu-se que a Dirofilariose cardiopulmonar canina encontra-se bastante presente no Algarve e que, embora uma grande parte da população a conheça, ainda há muitos tutores descuidados com a prevenção, pondo em causa a saúde dos seus animais de companhiaThis report describes the activities developed by the student during the curricular internship, of the degree in veterinary nursing, held at the veterinary clinic Inemvet. The objectives of the internship were foccused on deepening the knowledge acquired during the degree and developing skills in medical-surgical clinical practice. During the internship period, the student had the opportunity to work in different areas, such as supporting consultations, emergencies, surgery and anesthesia, hospitalization, clinical analyzes, complementary diagnostic methods and animal hygiene and aesthetics, where she participated in 85 consultations, 77 complementary diagnostic methods, 29 surgeries and 28 post-surgical recoveries. Algarve is described as a hyper-endemic region for canine cardopulmonary Heartworm. This parasitic disease affects the cardiovascular system of canids and which, in recente years, has been gaining considerable importance and concern, due to its expansion and zoonotic potential. It causes mainly cardiac symptoms and can even lead to death of the animals. In parallel with clinical activities, a study was developed to assess the prevalence of Heartworm disease, the factors that affect it and the knowledge of tutors about the disease in Algarve. For this, 19 blood smears were developed (where a positive case was obtained) and online questionnairies were made available to tutors and veterinary medical care centres in the region. A total of 409 responses were obtained in the first one, where there were 32 positive cases of Heartworm disease (71,87% belonging to the municipalities of Olhão and Faro) and 6 responses in the second one. Estratégias de uso criativo da língua no género "conversação coloquial" : interações orais informais em português europeu

Dissertação de Mestrado em Português Língua Não Materna apresentada à Universidade AbertaAssistimos, nos últimos anos, a uma explosão do interesse pela criatividade linguística do quotidiano. Estudos recentes sobre o tema sugerem uma potencial continuidade entre a criatividade do quotidiano e a criatividade literária, concluindo que, nas interações orais do dia-a-dia, os interlocutores mobilizam inúmeras estratégias criativas tradicionalmente consideradas literárias. Na presente investigação, partiremos da análise de 10 transcrições do Corpus Morais (2011) para realizar uma reflexão sobre o uso criativo da língua, em Português Europeu, no género “conversação coloquial”, observando: (i) como se manifesta a criatividade linguística no Corpus selecionado e que estratégias criativas são mobilizadas pelos interlocutores no decurso das interações, (ii) quais as funções textuais e comunicativo-pragmáticas da mobilização das estratégias e qual a sua justificação face ao cotexto e ao contexto interacional, histórico-político, social e cultural, (iii) quais os objetivos/intenções que presidem à sua utilização e (iv) qual o valor crítico/avaliativo das mesmas. Demonstraremos, assim, que a criatividade se encontra disseminada na prática linguística do quotidiano e que falantes e ouvintes de Português Europeu mobilizam, nas suas interações orais informais, uma variedade de estratégias criativas, com diferentes funções textuais, interacionais e configuracionais, que assumem um papel muito importante na construção e gestão das interações orais do quotidiano. Constataremos, também, que a criatividade linguística na oralidade é um fenómeno altamente complexo, na medida em que o caráter criativo das estratégias poderá não decorrer da forma/estrutura da linguagem, mas antes do modo como esta é criativamente utilizada num contexto/cotexto específico, da recontextualização criativa de discursos anteriores, da exploração criativa da polifonia da linguagem ou da intertextualidade, da estilização criativa do eu através da linguagem, da interpretação dos participantes no ato comunicativo ou do “jogo” com mais de um dos aspetos mencionados. Perceberemos, ainda, que a seleção, expressividade e eficácia das estratégias criativas estão intimamente relacionadas com fatores contextuais, tais como as características individuais dos interlocutores, a sua relação, o seu conhecimento mútuo e partilhado, a visão que têm do mundo, o conhecimento que possuem do tópico de que falam, a identidade social ou o contexto histórico-político, social e cultural. Finalmente, observaremos que a criatividade é coconstruída entre os interlocutores, resultando de um processo colaborativo de repetições, reformulações e expansões que possibilitam uma forma particularmente complexa e produtiva de coconstrução de sentido na interação.We have witnessed, in recent years, an increasing interest in everyday linguistic creativity. Recent studies have suggested a potential continuity from everyday creativity to literary creativity and have shown that, in everyday oral interactions, speakers use a number of creative strategies that have traditionally been regarded as literary. In this investigation, based on the analysis of 10 transcriptions from Morais Corpus (2011), we will reflect upon the creative use of language in European Portuguese, in the genre “Colloquial Conversation”, and will indicate: (i) how linguistic creativity emerges in the selected Corpus and which creative strategies are mobilized throughout the interactions, (ii) which are the textual and communicative-pragmatic functions of creative strategy use and how it is justified according to co-text and interactional, historical-political, social and cultural context, (iii) which are its objectives/intentions (iv) what is its critical/evaluative value. In this way, we will demonstrate that creativity is pervasive in everyday linguistic practice and that European Portuguese speakers and listeners mobilize, in their informal oral interactions, a range of creative strategies with different textual, interactional and evaluative functions, that have a very important role in the building and management of everyday oral interactions. We will conclude that linguistic creativity in spoken language is a highly complex event insofar that the creative nature of the strategies may not derive from language form/structure, but from the manner in which it is creatively used within a specific co-text/context, from the creative re-contextualization of previous discourses, from the creative use of language polyphony or intertextuality, from the creative stylization of the self through language, from speakers’ and/or listeners’ interpretations or from the “play” between several of these aspect. We will also show that the selection, expressiveness and effectiveness of creative strategies are closely related to contextual factors such as speakers’ individual characteristics, their relationship, their mutual and shared knowledge, their vision of the world, their knowledge about the topic in question, their social identity or the historical-political, social and cultural context . Finally, we will demonstrate that creativity is co-constructed between speakers, as it is the result of a collaborative process made of repetitions, re-formulations and expansions that allow for a particularly complex and productive way of meaning co-construction in the interaction
